I have been experimenting with a more upright or raised handle on the club shaft of the golf club and an upright stance with no tilt at address.
The grip runs more through the palm on my lead hand, but is through the fingers on the trail hand. I am also standing more upright with my stance at set up, with just a little knee flex. Then I set up without a tilt and my club shaft in middle of my stance. But the ball position is still more forward of my stance and aligned with the inside of my heal on the lead foot. So the club head starts about 3 to 4″ behind the ball at address. The idea here is as I come through with my down swing, I will catch the ball on the way up in my swing path.
I start my takeaway more as one piece without hinging or setting the wrists. I feel that doing this helps me produce a smoother takeaway, and maybe leads to a better backswing. My down swing is more like a regular down swing.
It’s not perfect but seems to get me a straighter ball flight and more distance down the fairway! And, I certainly like that!
Sorry I look so slobby, it was a hot day and had already sweat a bucket! lol! 100 degrees F +.
